Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Crossed Half Double Crochet Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an odd number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Then make 1 HDC into each CH across
Row 2: Make 2 CHs
Make 1 HDC into the 1st ST
*Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST
Make 1 HDC into the next ST
Make 1 HDC over the HDC you just made, into the ST you had skipped
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 1 ST left
Then make 1 HDC into that last ST to complete
Row 3: Make 2 CHs
Then make 1 HDC into each ST across to complete
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Crossed Half Double Crochet Stitch should look like when completed!
