Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Dawn Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Half Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Triple Crochet Stitch (TR), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 3rd CH from your hook
Then make 1 HDC into each CH across to complete this row
Row 2: Make 2 CHs
Make 1 HDC into the 1st ST
*Skip 1 ST, make (1 HDC, 1 TR, 1 HDC) into the next ST
Skip 1 ST, make 1 HDC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 STs left
Skip 1 ST, make 1 HDC into that last ST to complete this row
Row 3: Make 2 CHs
Make 1 HDC into the 1st ST
Skip 2 STs, make 1 HDC into the next ST
*Skip 1 ST, make (1 HDC, 1 TR, 1 HDC) into the next ST
Skip 1 ST, make 1 HDC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have some CHs left
Make 1 HDC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Dawn Stitch should look like when completed!
