Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
*Make 1 SC DEC in the CH with the SC/SC DEC you just made and the next CH
Insert your hook into the CH where you just made the last SC/SC DEC, grab the yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, insert your hook into the next CH, grab the yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through all the loops on your hook to complete
Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 CH left
Make 1 SC into the last CH to complete this row
Row 2: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
*Make 1 SC DEC in the ST with the SC/SC DEC you just made and the next ST
Insert your hook into the ST where you just made the last SC/SC DEC, grab the yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, insert your hook into the next ST, grab the yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through all the loops on your hook to complete
Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into the last ST to complete this row
Repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
