Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Gleaming Stitch!

 Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Gleaming Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Extended Single Crochet Stitch (ESC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops (BLO), tutorial here!

 

Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 HDC into he 3rd CH from your hook

*Make 1 ESC into the next CH

Make 1 HDC into the next CH

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

We'll be working in the Back Loops (BLO) of each ST we work into

Turn your work where you are looking at the top of each ST, the loop at the back of each ST is the Back Loop

Then make 1 HDC into the BLO of each ST across to complete this row

Row 3: Make 2 CHs, skip the 1st ST

Again, this row will be worked into each BLO of each ST

*Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Still working in the BLO: Make 1 ESC into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row

 

 

You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project

This is what the Gleaming Stitch should look like when completed!
