Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Lillian Stitch!

 Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Lillian Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! And how to make the Single Crochet Puff Stitch, tutorial here!

 

Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 3rd CH from your hook

Then make 1 HDC into each CH across to complete this row

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

Make 1 SC PUFF ST: Insert your hook into the next ST, grab the yarn you're working with, pull up 1 loop

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Insert your hook back into the same ST, grab the yarn you're working with, pull up 1 loop

Yarn over your hook 1 time

You'll have 4 loops on your hook, take that yarn through all 4 loops

*CH 1

Skip 1 ST, make 1 SC PUFF into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left

Make 1 SC into that last ST to complete this row

Row 3: Make 2 CHs

Make 1 HDC into each ST and CH across to complete this row

 

 

You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project

This is what the Lillian Stitch Stitch should look like when completed!
