Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Shining Tiles Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Decrease (SC DEC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC DEC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Then make 1 SC into each CH across to complete this row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs, these CHs count as 1 DC, so you can skip the 1st ST
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook (You'll have 3 loops on your hook total)
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops only
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Insert your hook back into the same ST, grab the yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 look on your hook (You'll have 4 loops on your hook total)
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops only (You'll have 3 loops left on your hook)
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through all of the loops on your hook to complete this ST
*Next ST: Yarn over your hook 1 time
Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook (You'll have 3 loops on your hook total)
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops only
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Insert your hook back into the next ST, grab the yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 look on your hook (You'll have 4 loops on your hook total)
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops only (You'll have 3 loops left on your hook)
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through all of the loops on your hook to complete that ST
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Then make 1 DC into that last ST to complete this row
Row 3: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
SC DEC: Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook
Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through all of the loops to complete that ST
*Insert your hook into the ST you were just working into, grab that yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook
Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through all of the loops to complete that ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into that last ST to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
