Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Spiked Cobblestone Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Spiked Cobblestone Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Spike Stitch (DC SP), tutorial here!

 

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3 + 2

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 SC + 1 HDC + 1 DC all into the 3rd CH from your hook

*Skip 2 CHs, make that 1 SC + 1 HDC + 1 DC into the next CH

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 CH left

Make 1 SC into that last CH to complete this row

Row 2: CH 2

Skip 3 STs,

Make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next ST

Then instead of a regular DC, make 1 DC SP into the ST below the one you were just working into

(For the 2nd row it will be the CH space below, but going forward it will be the ST below)

*Skip 2 STs,

then make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next ST

then make that DC SP into the CH space/ST below

repeat this step until you only have 1 ST left

Then make 1 SC into that last ST to complete this row

 

You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what the Spiked Cobblestone Stitch should look like when completed!
