Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Spiked Moss Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Spike Stitch (SC SPIKE), tutorial here! And how be familiar with the Moss Stitch, tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Then make 1 SC into each CH across to complete this row
Row 2: Make 1 CH, this CH counts as 1 SC, so you can skip the 1st ST
Make 1 SC into the next ST
*Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST
Make 1 SC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into that last ST to complete this row
Row 3: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
*Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST
Make 1 SC SP over the next CH space, into the ST in the row below
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left + 1 CH left
Skip that last ST, make 1 SC into the top of that last CH to complete this row
Row 4: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into each ST and CH space across to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 3 & 4 for however long you want your project
This is what the Spiked Moss Stitch should look like when completed!
