Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Stargaze Stitch!

 Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Stargaze Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops (BLO), tutorial here!

 

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Make 1 SC into the next CH

*Make 3 HDC into the next CH

Skip 1 CH, make 1 SC into each of the next 2 CHs

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

We'll be working in the Back Loops (BLO) of each ST we work into

Turn your work where you are looking at the top of each ST, the loop at the back of each ST is the Back Loop

Skip the 1st ST,

(BLO): Make 2 HDC into the next ST

*Skip 1 ST,

(BLO): Make 1 SC into each of the next 2 STs

(BLO): Make 3 HDC into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last ST in this row

(BLO): Make 2 HDC into that last ST to complete this row

Row 3: Make 1 CH, still working in the Back Loops (BLO) for this row

(BLO): Make 1 SC into each of the next 2 STs

*(BLO): Make 3 HDC into the next ST

Skip 1 ST,

(BLO): Make 1 SC into each of the next 2 STs

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left

Make 1 SC into that last ST to complete this row

 

 

You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project

This is what the Stargaze Stitch Stitch should look like when completed!
