Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Sunbird Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 2

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook, CH 3, then make 3 DC into the same CH where you made the SC
*SK 3 CHs, make (1 SC, CH 3, 3 DC) into the next CH
Repeat the step above from * until you reach the last 4 CHs in this row
Skip 3 CHs, make 1 SC into the last CH to complete this row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
Make 1 DC into the 1st ST
*Skip to the next previous CH space, make 1 SC into that CH space
Make 1 DC V (1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC) into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 DC into that last ST to complete this row
Row 3: Make 3 CHs
Skip 1st ST, make (1 SC, CH 3, 3 DC) into the next ST
*Skip next DC V, into the next ST make: (1 SC, CH 3, 3 DC)
Repeat the step above from * until you only have some CHs left
Make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Sunbird Stitch Stitch should look like when completed!
