Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Sunnyvale Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 2nd CH from your hook
*Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH
1 HDC into the next CH
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: Make 2 CHs
Skip 1st ST
make 1 HDC into the CH/ST below the next CH 1 space
Make 1 HDC into the HDC you just made
*Skip 1 ST
make 1 HDC into the CH/ST below the next CH 1 space
then make 1 HDC into the HDC you just made
Repeat the steps above until you reach the last ST in this row
Skip last ST, make 1 HDC into the tops of the CHS at the end of this row
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Sunnyvale Stitch should look like when completed!
