Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Tilted Block Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Triple Crochet Stitch (TR), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 8 + 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Then make 1 SC into each CH across for the rest of this row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
Make 1 DC into the 1st ST, make 1 DC into the next ST
*Skip 2 STs, make 1 TR into the next ST
Make 3 CHs
Make 3 DC over the TR you had just made
Skip 2 STs, make 1 DC into the next 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 3: Make 3 CHs
Make 1 DC into the 1st ST, make 1 DC into the 2nd ST
*Make 2 CHs
Skip to previous CH 3 space, make 1 SC into that space
Make 2 CHs
Skip to previous 3 DC, make 1 DC into each of those 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 2 STs + some CHs left in this row
Make 1 DC into each of those 2 STs, then make 1 DC into the tops of those CHs at the end of this row
Row 4: Make 3 CHs
Make 1 DC into the 1st ST, make 1 DC into the 2nd ST
*Skip to previous SC, make 1 TR into that ST
Make 3 CHs
Make 3 DC around TR just made
Skip to previous 3 DC, make 1 DC into each of those 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 2 STs + CHs left at the end of this row
Make 1 DC into each of those 2 STs, then make 1 DC into the tops of those CHs to complete this row
You would now alternate between Rows 3 & 4 for however long you want your project
This is what the Tilted Block Stitch should look like when completed!
