Step #1: What crochet tools to use/buy to get started
In this video tutorial I go over a few tools to get started, but realistically you'll just need 1 crochet hook and some yarn. I would stay in the medium range for both crochet hook and yarn. Not too small or thin. Not too big and bulky. I use medium weight yarn and a 5.0 or 5.5 crochet hook if that helps.

Step #2: Learn how to make the Slip Knot
Making the Slip Knot is the absolute 1st step to start actually crocheting. This is how you will get your yarn on to your crochet hook.

Step #3: Learn how to make Chains
Once you get your yarn on to your crochet hook with the Slip Knot, you can start practicing how to make chains. You'll practice chains until you are comfortable

Step #4: The Basic Crochet Stitches
After you practice making chains, you can practice making the most basic crochet stitches. This tutorial featuring the Single Crochet Stitch, Half Double Crochet Stitch, Double Crochet Stitch and Triple Crochet Stitch!

Step #5: How to Read Crochet Patterns
Once you master the 1st 4 steps, you can move on to reading crochet patterns. In this tutorial I go over one of my patterns. How to read the abbreviations, how crocheters layout patterns, etc. Showing how a crochet pattern should look, so it's more approachable.
