Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example square
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example square – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Notes:
I Fasten Off each row to change colors:

To keep your square straight, flip your work every row
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK

Pattern:
Pick your favorite way to start a circle or square, playlist above!
Row 1: Make circle, CH 1, SC, CH 3, SC, CH 3, SC, CH 3, SC, CH 3, SL ST into the 1st CH made in this row
Row 2: (Start at corner space) CH 4, SC into same space, *CH 3, SK to next space, (SC, CH 3, SC) into that space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 3: (Start at corner space) CH 4, SC into same space, *CH 3, SK to next side space, SC into that space, CH 3, SK to next corner space, (SC, CH 3, SC) into that space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Repeat Row 3 for how big you want your square
As your square gets bigger you will add more side spaces. But the pattern will be the same. You’ll make 1 SC into each side space and CH 3 to skip any previous SC from your last row. All the corners will be the same (SC, CH 3, SC).
