Free Crochet Pattern: Retro Paradise Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a new free pattern from me! My Retro Paradise Afghan is so fun to make and very customizable!

It can be made in any size you want and uses basic crochet stitches to work up!

I want to make soooo many of these blankets 💗

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:

 

Materials:

Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example squares/blanket

Crochet hook – Any hook will work

I used a ‘I’ hook for my example squares/blanket – 5.5 MM

Scissors

Stitch Markers

 

Notes:

I Fasten Off each row to change colors:

To keep your squares straight, flip your work every row

 

Crochet Stitches Needed:

Chain – CH

Stitch – ST

Skip – SK

Pattern:

Pick your favorite way to start a circle, playlist above!

 

Row 1: Make circle, CH 3, 2 DC into center of circle, CH 2, *3 DC into circle, CH 2, Repeat from * 2 more times, SL ST into first DC stitch made in this row

 

Row 2: CH 3, 1 DC in top right corner space, 1 DC in next two stitches across, *2 DC in open corner space, CH 2, 2 DC in same corner space, 1 DC in each ST across until you reach corner space, repeat from * around square, SL ST into first CH 3 made in this row

 

Row 3: CH 3, 1 DC in top right corner space, 1 DC in each stitch across until you reach the corner, *2 DC in open corner space, CH 2, 2 DC in same corner space, 1 DC in each ST across until you reach corner space, repeat from * around square, SL ST into first CH 3 made in this row

 

* Repeat Row 3 for however big you want your squares

 

More Notes:

I made 4 rows for each square of my example blanket

 

I made 10 squares for each row, so in total I made 100 squares for my example blanket

This blanket came out to be a throw size afghan

 

* Make as many squares as you want for the size of blanket you want

* Then chose a joining method and join the squares together

 

I used the Slip Stitch Back Loop Join for my example blanket:
