Free Crochet Pattern: Whispers At Dusk Crochet Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a new free pattern from me! My Whispers At Dusk Afghan is easy to make with basic crochet stitches and the outcome is gorgeous!

Quick to whip up and it would look lovely in any color combo! It looks intimidating at first, but it's very easy to learn!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:

 

Materials:

Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket

Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM

Scissors

Stitch Markers

 

Notes:

Any CH 3 throughout the pattern counts as 1 DC

 

Crochet Stitches Needed:

Chains – CH

Stitches – ST

Skip – SK

 

Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:

Chain in multiples of 4 + 1

 

Row 1: 1 DC in 3^rd CH from your hook, 1 DC in next CH, *CH 1, SK 1, 1 DC in next 3 CHs, repeat from * until end of row

 

Row 2: CH 3, SK 1^st ST where CH 3 is connected, 1 DC in 2^nd ST, 1 DC in 3^rd ST, *CH 1, SK open space, 1 DC in next 3 STs, repeat until end of row

 

These first 2 rows are the foundations rows for our next 2

 

Row 3: CH 4, SK 2 STs, *1 DC in next ST, 1 DC into the 1^st row open space, 1 DC in next ST, CH 1, SK 1, repeat from * until end of row

 

Row 4: CH 3, SK 1^st ST where CH 3 is connected, 1 DC in 2^nd ST, 1 DC in 3^rd ST, *CH 1, SK open space, 1 DC in next 3 STs, repeat until end of row

 

Repeat rows 3 & 4 for your desired length
