Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Corner To Corner Linen Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the C2C Linen Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! And how to make the Linen Stitch, tutorial here!

Row 1: Make 3 CHs

Make 1 SC into the 3rd CH or farthest CH from your hook

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Skip the 1st ST, work (SC, CH 1 SC) into the space made from those previous CHS

Increase Row: Make 3 CHs

Skip 1st ST, make 1 SC into the CH 1 space from the last row

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make (SC, CH 1 SC) into the CH space at the end of your row

Make as many Increase Rows as you want for how wide you want your square

Transition Row: Make 3 CHs

Skip 1st ST, make 1 SC into the next previous CH 1 space

This is where we will really see the Linen ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 SC into the next CH 1 space

*Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 SC into the next CH 1 space

Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the CH space at the end of your row

Make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the last CH space

Decrease Row: Make 2 CHs

Skip 1st ST, make 1 SC into next CH 1 space

Make that Linen ST: (CH 1, Skip 1 ST, SC into next CH 1 space) until you have 1 ST and the CH space left in your row

DO NOT make a CH to skip the ST, just simply make a SC into that CH space at the end of your row

Continue making Decrease Rows until you reach the 2nd to last row of your square

2nd To Last Row: Make 1 CH

Skip 1st ST, make 1 SC into the last CH 1 space

DO NOT make a CH to skip the next ST, just simply make a SC into the CH space at the end of your row

Last Row: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC into the last ST of your row

This is what the C2C Linen Stitch should look like when completed!
