First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you’ll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Front Post Double Crochet Stitch (FPDC), tutorial here! How to make the Back Post Double Crochet Stitch (BPDC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, you can make an even number of CHs for this one or an odd number of CHs,
Either in the multiple of 8 + 3 or 6 + 3
I'm making my example swatch in 6 + 3, so I made 27 CHs to start
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook

Then make 1 DC into each CH across for row 1

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

Skip the 1st ST connected with the 2 CHs
Make a FPDC over the 2nd ST

Make a FPDC over the next ST

Make a FPDC over the next ST
So that's 3 FPDC so far

Make 1 BPDC over each of the next 4 STs

Make 1 FPDC over each of the next 4 STs

Make 1 BPDC over each of the next 4 STs

Make 1 FPDC over each of the next 4 STs

Make 1 BPDC over each of the next 4 STs
You would keep alternating between making 4 FPDC and 4 BPDC until you reach the last ST of your row

Make 1 regular DC into the last ST of your row

Row 3: Make 2 CHs

Skip 1st ST, BPDC over the next 3 STs

This is where you would continue the same sequence, make 1 FPDC over each of the next 4 STs

Make 1 BPDC over each of the next 4 STs
You would keep alternating between making 4 FPDC and 4 BPDC until you reach the last 3 STs of your row

Make 1 FPDC over each of the last 3 STs

Make 1 regular DC into the tops of the previous turning CHs
Alternate between rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project

This is what the Basket Weave Stitch #1 should look like when completed!
