Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Spiked Sedge Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC) tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC, tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Spike Stitch, tutorial here! And be familiar with the regular Sedge Stitch, tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning make CHs in the multiple of 3 + 2

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Make 1 HDC into that same CH
Make 1 DC into that same CH
*Skip 2 CHs, make 1 SC + 1 HDC + 1 DC into the next CH
Repeat the step above for the rest of Row 1
Row 2: Make 1 CH
Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next ST
Make 1 DC/DC Spike/Long DC into the CH space/ ST under that ST you were just working into
Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next ST
Make 1 DC/DC Spike/Long DC into the CH space/ST under that ST you were just working into
*Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next ST, Make 1 DC/DC Spike/Long DC into the CH space/ST under that ST you were just working into
Repeat the step above from * until you reach the last 3 STs of your row
Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC into the last ST of Row 2
Repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Spiked Sedge Stitch should look like when completed!
