Free Crochet Pattern: Leaps & Bounds Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a new free pattern from me! My Leaps & Bounds Crochet Afghan is fun, warm and sturdy!

This blanket is a wonderful option if you want a blanket with no holes or openings. The stitches are tight together, so it's very warm to snuggle!

It would look absolutely stunning in any color(s)!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:

 

Materials:

Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket

Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM

Scissors

Stitch Markers

 

Crochet Stitches Needed:

Chain – CH

Stitch – ST

Skip – SK

 

Single Crochet Stitch (SC):

Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:

CH even amount, I chained 178

Row 1: 1 DC into 2^nd CH from your hook, *CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next ST, 1 DC into next ST, repeat from * until end of row

Row 2: CH 2, SK to open space, *1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it, 1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it, CH 2, SK 2 STs, repeat from * until you only have 2 STs left in this row, CH 2, SK 1 ST, 1 SC into the last ST of this row

Row 3: *1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it,1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it, CH 2, SK to next open space, repeat from * until end of row

Repeat rows 2 & 3 for your desired length
