Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a new free pattern from me! My Leaps & Bounds Crochet Afghan is fun, warm and sturdy!
This blanket is a wonderful option if you want a blanket with no holes or openings. The stitches are tight together, so it's very warm to snuggle!
It would look absolutely stunning in any color(s)!
Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Single Crochet Stitch (SC):

Pattern:
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains. I made 152 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: 1 DC into 2nd CH from your hook, *CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next ST, 1 DC into next ST, repeat from * until end of row
Row 2: CH 2, SK to open space, *1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it, 1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it, CH 2, SK 2 STs, repeat from * until you only have 2 STs left in this row, CH 2, SK 1 ST, 1 SC into the last ST of this row
Row 3: *1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it,1 DC over CH made in last row into the top of the DC below it, CH 2, SK to next open space, repeat from * until end of row
Alternate between rows 2 & 3 for your desired length
To close up last row:
Row 1: If your last row ended with a ‘block’ of DC STs, make *1 SC into each ST, in open space make 2 DC into top of previous DC below them, repeat from * until end of row
If your last row ended with a open space, *make 2 DC into the tops of the previous DC STs below, 1 SC into the next 2 STs, repeat from * until end of row
