Photo Tutorial – Crochet Pattern: Leaps & Bounds Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Leaps & Bounds Afghan!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Make an even number of chains for how wide you want your blanket

 Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 2nd CH from your hook

*Make 2 CHs, skip 2 CHs

Make 1 DC into each of the next 2 CHs

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row

 

Row 2: Make 2 CHs, skip 2 STs

*Make 2 DC into the CHs below

Or if you are working into previous STs, work these DC into the tops of those previous DC below

Make 2 CHs to skip 2 STs

Repeat the steps above from * until you have 2 STs left in this row

Make 2 CHs

Skip 1 ST, make 1 SC into the last ST to complete this row

Row 3: NO CHAINS TO START,

Skip the 1st ST, make 1 DC into each DC ST below next CH space 

*Make 2 CHs, skip 2 STs

Make 1 DC into each DC ST below next CH space  

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row

You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your blanket

 

 

This is what how the Leaps & Bounds Afghan should look like when completed!
