Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Make chains in the multiple of 27 + 4, I made 166 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: 1 DC into the 5th CH from your hook, 1 DC into next CH, 1 DC into next CH, *CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, 1 DC into next CH X 2, CH 1, SK 1 CH, 1 DC into next CH X 3, CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, 1 DC into next CH X 4, repeat from * for the rest of this row
