Only using basic crochet stitches
Gorgeous shell stitch texture
Beginner friendly pattern

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work –I used Medium/Aran weight for my example cowl
Crochet hook – Any hook will work– I used a I hook for my example cowl– 5.0 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK

Pattern:
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 6 + 2, I made 194 CHs for my example cowl
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook, *skip 2 CHS, make (2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC) into the next CH, skip 2 CHs, make 1 SC into the next CH, repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: CH 4, make 1 DC into the 1st ST, *make 1 CH, make 1 SC into the next CH space, make 1 CH, skip to next previous SC, make (1 DC, CH 2, 1 DC) into that ST, repeat the steps above from * until you only have 3 STs left, skip to the last ST, make 1 DC V ST into the last ST to complete
Row 3: Make 1 CH, make 1 SC into 1st CH space, *skip to next previous SC ST, make (2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC) into that ST, skip to next previous DC V, make 1 SC into that CH space, repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project

Leave long yarn tail to sew ends of cowl together
