Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Make chains in the multiple of 4, I made 152 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 4 DC into the 4th CH from your hook, *SK 3 CHs, 5 DC into the next CH, repeat from * for the rest of your row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs, *SK to middle DC (3rd one) of previous 5 DC, make 5 DC into that ST, repeat from * until you have some CHs left at the end of your row, make 1 DC into the tops of those CHs to complete this row
Repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
