Just Double Crochet Stitches and Chains! SO EASY
Filet style blankets are so fun to make!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Make chains in the multiple of 12 + 4, I made 160 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: 1 DC into 5th CH from your hook, 1 DC into next CH, 1 DC into next CH, *CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into each of the next 7 CHs, repeat from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: CH 5, SK 3 STs, *1 DC into each of the next 4 STs, 2 DC into the next CH space, 1 DC into next ST, CH 2, SK CH space, 1 DC into next ST, CH 2, SK 2 STs, repeat from * until you reach the last CHs in this row, 1 DC into the top of those CHs
Row 3: CH 5, SK 1st ST, SK CH space, 1 DC into next ST, *2 DC into the next CH space, 1 DC into each of the next 4 STs, CH 2, SK 2 STs, 1 DC into next ST, CH 2, SK CH space, repeat from * until you reach the last CHs in this row, CH 2, 1 DC into those CHs
Row 4: CH 3, 2 DC into the next CH space, 1 DC into next ST, *CH 2, SK CH space, 1 DC into next ST, CH 2, SK 2 STs, 1 DC into each of the next 4 STs, 2 DC into the next CH space, 1 DC into next ST, repeat from * until you reach the last CHs in this row, 3 DC into those CHs
Repeat Rows 2, 3 & 4 in order for however long you want your project
