You only need 1 basic crochet stitch
Very beginner friendly

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC):

Pattern:
Make CHs in the multiple of 3 + 4, I made 154 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 3 HDC into the 3rd CH from your hook, *SK 2 CHs, make 3 HDC into the next CH, repeat from * until you only have 1 CH left, make 1 HDC into that last CH to complete this row
Row 2: CH 1,* SK 2 STs, make 3 HDC into the next ST, repeat from * until you only have 1 ST left, make 1 HDC into that last ST to complete this row
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
