Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Cosmic Spirit Afghan!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket pattern
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And be familiar with the Block Stitch, tutorial here!

For this blanket, you'll make 4 big block stitch granny squares, then join them together
Row 1: Make 4 CHs
*Make 2 DC into the 4th CH from your hook
Corner: Make 3 CHs
Side: Make 3 DC into the center circle
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 4 sides of 3 DC and 4 corner CHs made
Then SL ST into the 1st CHs you made in this row to complete
Row 2: Attach your new yarn to any corner space, Make 4 CHs
Make 1 SC into that same corner space
*Make 3 CHs to skip the next 3 STs
Make 1 SC into the next CH space
Make 3 CHs
Make 1 SC into the same corner space
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row
Then SL ST into those 1st CHs to complete this row
Row 3: Attach your new yarn to any corner space, Make 3 CHs
Make 2 DC into the same corer space
Make 2 CHs
Make 3 DC into the same corner space
*Side: Skip to the next CH space, make 3 DC into that space
Once your square grows, you'll have more of these side spaces to work into
Corner: Make 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC all into that corner space
Repeat the steps above from * around
SL ST into the 1st CHs you made to complete this row
Row 4: Attach your new yarn to any corner space, Make 4 CHs
Make 1 SC into the same corner space
*Side: Make 3 CHs, SK 3 STs
Make 1 SC into the next space between STs
You'll repeat this side step from * until you reach the next corner space
Corner space: Make 1 SC, CH 3, 1 SC
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row
Then SL ST into those 1st CHs to complete this row
You'll now alternate between Rows 3 & 4 for how big you want your squares
So now you'll make 4 squares you want to join together
For my example squares I made 24 rows on each
I stopped on a 'Row 4' for each of my square, to join them
I then used the Mesh Stitch Join As You Go Method, to join my squares together
