Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Radiance Granny Square!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this motif.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
There are several ways to start this motif. You can use the Magic Ring/Circle/Loop, I have a tutorial here! The Chain 4 method, I have a tutorial here! Or the Slip Stitch Method, I have a tutorial here!
I have a playlist with more circle tutorials here!

This square will start as a circle, that morphs into a square
So we need to make a circle first, then make 5 CHs
I'm starting with 5 CHs, I'll be using the CH farthest from my hook as a center circle
These 5 CHs count as 1 DC + 1 CH
Make 1 DC into the center circle
*CH 1
Make 1 DC into same center circle
Repeat the steps above from * around,
you'll need 12 DC (counting those 1st CHs) with 12 CH spaces
SL ST into those 1st CHs you made in this row to complete
Row 2: Attach your new color to any previous CH space (make a Slip Knot, tutorial here) , CH 3
These 3 CHs count as 1 DC
Make 1 DC into that same space
*CH 1, to skip any previous ST
Make 2 DC into the next CH space
Repeat the steps above from * around, until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row
SL ST into those 1st CHs you made to complete this row
You'll have 24 STs and 24 CH spaces around
Row 3: Attach your new color to any previous CH space (make a Slip Knot, tutorial here) , CH 4
These 4 CHs count as 1 DC + 1 CH
*Skip 1 ST, make 1 DC into that space between STs
CH 1
Repeat the steps above from * around, until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row
SL ST into those 1st CHs you made to complete this row
You'll still have 24 STs and 24 CH spaces around
Row 5: This is where we turn the circle into a square
Attach your new color to any previous CH space (make a Slip Knot, tutorial here) , CH 3, these 3 CHs count as 1 DC
Then make: (1 DC, CH 3, 2 DC) all into that same space to make 1 corner
*Skip to next CH space, make 1 DC + 1 HDC into that space
CH 1, SK 1 ST, make 1 SC into the next CH space X 3
Skip to next CH space, make 1 HDC + 1 DC into that space
Next corner space: Skip to the next CH space
(2 DC, CH 3, 2 DC) into that space
Repeat the steps above from * around
SL ST into those 1st CHs you made to complete this row
You'll have 4 sides and 4 corners
This is what the Radiance Granny Square should look like when completed!
