Photo Tutorial - Crochet Pattern: Sunburst Hexagon!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Sunburst Hexagon!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this motif.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Cluster Stitch (CL ST), tutorial here! And how to make the Puff Stitch (PF ST), tutorial here!

There are several ways to start this motif. You can use the Magic Ring/Circle/Loop, I have a tutorial here! The Chain 4 method, I have a tutorial here! Or the Slip Stitch Method, I have a tutorial here!

This pattern starts as a circle, then turns into a Hexagon

Row 1: I made 4 CHs to start my circle/hexagon

(Make your circle)

I'm SL STing into the 1st CH made to make my circle

Once you have your circle, make 3 CHs

Then make 18 DC into the center of your circle

Then SL ST into the 1st CHs made to complete this row

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

Make 1 PF ST + 1 CH into each ST around

Then SL ST into the 1st CHs made to complete this row

Row 3: Attach this yarn to any previous CH space, make 2 CHs

Make 1 3 DC CL ST into the CH space, CH 2

*Skip to the next CH space, make a 4 DC CL ST, then CH 2

Repeat the step above from * around

Then SL ST into the 1st CHs made to complete this row

Row 4: This is where we will turn our circle into a hexagon

Attach this yarn to any previous CH space, make 3 CHs, these CHs count as 1 DC

Make (2 DC, CH 2, 3 DC) all into that space

*Skip to the next CH space, make 3 DC into that CH space X 2

Corner: Skip to the next CH space

Make (3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC) into that space

Repeat the steps above from * around

Then SL ST into the 1st CHs made to complete this row
