First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket pattern
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Front Post Double Crochet Stitch (FPDC), tutorial here! How to make the Back Post Double Crochet Stitch (BPDC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiples of 3 + 2, I made 152 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook
Then make 1 DC into each CH across to complete this row
Row 2: Make 2 CHs, these CHs count as 1 DC, so you can skip the 1st ST
Make 1 DC into the next ST
*Make 1 FPDC over each of the next 2 STs
Make 1 DC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have some CHs left
Make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
Row 3: Make 2 CHs, these CHs count as 1 DC, so you can skip the 1st ST
*Make 1 DC into each of the next 2 STs
Make 1 FPDC over the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have some CHs left
Make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what my Sunday Brunch Afghan should look like when completed!
