Photo Tutorial – Crochet Pattern: Twinkling Gems Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Twinkling Gems Afghan!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Make an even number of chains for how wide you want your blanket

 Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Then make 1 SC into each CH across

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Make 1 DC into the 1st ST

*Skip 1 ST, make 2 DC into the next ST

Repeat this step from * for the rest of this row

Row 3: Make 4 CHs

*Skip 2 STs, make 2 DC into the space between STs

Repeat the step above from * until you have 1 ST + some CHs left in this row

Make 1 CH, SK last ST

Then make 1 DC into those last CHs to complete

Row 4: Make 3 CHs (Counts as 1 DC)

Skip 1st ST, make 1 DC into previous CH 1 space

*Then skip 2 STs, make 2 DC into space between STs

Repeat this step above from  * for the rest of this row

 

You would now alternate between Rows 3 & 4 for however long you want your blanket

 

This is what how the Twinkling Gems Afghan should look like when completed!
