Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Bricked Up Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Back Post Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops (BLO), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 3rd CH from your hook
Then make 1 HDC into each CH across to complete this row
Row 2: Make 2 CHs, these CHs count as 1 HDC, so you can skip the 1st ST
*Make 1 HDC into each of the next 2 STs
Make 1 BPHDC over the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have a CH left
Make 1 HDC into that last CH to complete this row
Row 3: Make 2 CHs, these CHs count as 1 HDC, so you can skip the 1st ST
For Row 3 you'll work 1 HDC into each ST, only using the Back Loops across, for the entire row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 in order for however long you want your project
This is what the Bricked Up Stitch should look like when completed!
