Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Catherine Wheel Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Increase (DC INC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Decrease (DC DEC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 10 + 1

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
*Skip 3 CHs, make 7 DC into the next CH
Skip 3 CHs, make 1 SC into each of the next 3 CHs
Repeat from * until you only have 4 CHs left
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
Make 1 DC DEC across 3 STs
(Yarn over your hook, insert your hook into the next ST, grab the yarn, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only) repeat this in all 3 STs, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through all of the loops to complete this DC DEC
Make 3 CHs, skip 2 STs
Make 1 SC into each of the next 3 STs
Make 3 CHs
*Make a DC DEC across 7 STs
(Yarn over your hook, insert your hook into the next ST, grab the yarn, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only) repeat this in all 7 STs, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through all of the loops to complete this DC DEC
Make 3 CHs
Make 1 SC into each of the next 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 3 STs left
Make 1 DC DEC across the last 3 STs
(Yarn over your hook, insert your hook into the next ST, grab the yarn, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only) repeat this in all 3 STs, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through all of the loops to complete this DC DEC
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
Make 2 DC into the 1st ST
*Skip the next CH space, make 1 SC into each of the next 3 STs
Skip next CH space, make 7 DC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left
Make 2 DC into the last ST
Make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
Row 4: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
*Make 3 CHs
Make a DC DEC across 7 STs
(Yarn over your hook, insert your hook into the next ST, grab the yarn, pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only) repeat this in all 7 STs, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through all of the loops to complete this DC DEC
Make 3 CHs
Make 1 SC into each of the next 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into that last ST to complete this row
Row 5: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
*Skip CH space, make 7 DC into the next ST
Skip CH space, make 1 SC into each of the next 3 STs
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into the last ST to complete this row
You would now repeat Rows, 2, 3 4 & 5 in order for however long you want your project
This is what the Catherine Wheel Stitch should look like when completed!
