Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Lace Chevron Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Lace Chevron Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 10 + 4

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook

Side: Make 1 DC into each of the next 3 CHs

*Decrease/Valley: DC DEC over the next 3 CHs

(Yarn over your hook 1 time, Insert your hook into the next CH, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop, yarn over your hook 1 time, Take that yarn through 2 loops on your hook) repeat this in each CH, then yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through all loops on your hook to complete that decrease

Side: Make 1 DC into each of the next 3 CHs

Increase/Peak: Make 3 DC into the next CH

Side: Make 1 DC into each of the next CHs

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 4 CHs left

Side: Make 1 DC into each of the last 4 CHs to complete this row

Row 2: Filet/Lace Row: Make 4 CHs

Side: Skip 1st ST, make 1 DC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST

*Decrease/Valley: You'll decrease over 3 STs, but skip the middle ST

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into the 1st ST, grab that yarn and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, skip the next ST, Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, yarn over 1 time, take that yarn through all of the loops left to complete this decrease

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST

Make 1 DC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST

Increase/Peak: Make 1 DC, CH 3, 1 DC into the next ST

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST

Make 1 DC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left

Skip the last ST, then make 1 DC into the top of the last CHs to complete this row

Row 3: Make 3 CHs

Side: Make 1 DC into the next open space,

Make 1 DC into the next ST,

Make 1 DC into the next open space

*Decrease/Valley: Start in the open space you were just working into

Yarn over 1 time, insert your hook into the open space you were just working into, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, skip the next ST, yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into the next open space, grab the yarn you're working with and pull it through, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through all of the loops left to complete this decrease
