Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Open Puff Group Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stich (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Puff Stitch (PF ST), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 8 + 4
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Into the 8th CH from your hook make (1 PF ST, CH 3, 1 PF ST, CH 3, 1 PF ST)
*Make 1 CH
Skip 3 CHs, make 1 DC into the next CH
Make 1 CH
Skip 3 CHs, make (1 PF ST, CH 3, 1 PF ST, CH 3, 1 PF ST) into the next CH
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: CH 4
*Make 1 SC into the next CH space
Make 3 CHs
Make 1 SC into the next CH space
Make 1 CH
Make 1 DC into previous DC ST
Make 1 CH
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 CH space left
Make 1 DC into that last CH space to complete this row
Row 3: Make 4 CHs
Skip 1st CH space,
*make (1 PF ST, CH 3, 1 PF ST, CH 3, 1 PF ST) into the next CH
Make 1 CH
Make 1 DC into next previous DC ST
Make 1 CH
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Open Puff Group Stitch should look like when completed!
