Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Ripple V Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 14 + 6
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 6th CH from your hook
These 1st CHs + 1 DC make 1 DC V
*Skip 2 CHs, make 1 DC V into the next CH
Peak/Increase: Skip 2 CHs,
Make: 1 DC V, CH 1, 1 DC V into the next CH
Skip 2 CHs, make 1 DC V into the next CH
Valley/Decrease: Skip 2 CHs,
Make the bottom of 1 DC into the next CH: Yarn over your hook 1 time, grab that yarn and pull it through that CH, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, that's the bottom of 1 DC made
Skip 1 CH,
Make the bottom of 1 DC into the next CH: Yarn over your hook 1 time, grab that yarn and pull it through that CH, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, that's the bottom of 1 DC made
Yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through all of the loops to complete that Valley/Decrease
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
Row 2: CH 3 (Counts as 1 DC)
Skip to 1st previous DC V, make 1 DC into that ST space
*Make 1 DC V into the next previous DC V space
Peak/Increase: 1 DC V, CH 1, 1 DC V into next previous Peak space
Make 1 DC V into the next previous DC V space
Valley/Decrease: Make that same DC from Row 1, over the next 2 DC V spaces
Make the bottom of 1 DC into the DC V ST space: Yarn over your hook 1 time, grab that yarn and pull it through that CH, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, that's the bottom of 1 DC made,
Skip previous Decrease,
Make the bottom of 1 DC into the DC V ST space: Yarn over your hook 1 time, grab that yarn and pull it through that CH, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, that's the bottom of 1 DC made
Yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through all of the loops to complete that Valley/Decrease
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 DC V spaces left
DC Decrease over the next DC V + 1 ST
Make the bottom of 1 DC into the next DC V ST space: Yarn over your hook 1 time, grab that yarn and pull it through that CH, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, that's the bottom of 1 DC made
Make the bottom of 1 DC into the next DC ST space: Yarn over your hook 1 time, grab that yarn and pull it through that CH, pulling up 1 loop on your hook, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that yarn through 2 loops only, that's the bottom of 1 DC made
Yarn over 1 time, take that yarn through all the loops left to complete this Decrease
Make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Ripple V Stitch should look like when completed!
