Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Spiked Granny Chevron Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Triple Crochet Stitch (TR), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 18

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make 3 DC into the 5th CH from your hook

Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH

*Skip 2 CHs,

Peak: 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC into the next CH

Side: Skip 2 CHs, 3 DC into the next CH, skip 2 CHs, 3 DC into the next CH

Valley: Skip 5 CHs

Then make the next side: 3 DC into the next CH, skip 2 CHs, 3 DC into the next CH

Repeat the steps above from * until you have 1 CH left in this row

Make 1 DC into that last CH to complete this row

 Row 2: Make 4 CHs

Skip to space between previous 3 DC blocks, make 1 DC into that space

Make 1 TR into the (middle) CH/ST below

Complete that block of 3 STs with 1 DC into that space we were working into before

Skip to space between previous 3 DC blocks, make 1 DC into that space, make 1 TR into the (middle) CH/ST below, complete that block of 3 STs with 1 DC into that space we were working into before

*Peak: into the previous peak CH 2 space make (3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC)

Side: skip to space between previous 3 DC blocks, make 1 DC into that space, make 1 TR into the (middle) CH/ST below, complete that block of 3 STs with 1 DC into that space we were working into before

Skip the Valley space

The make the next side: skip to space between previous 3 DC blocks, make 1 DC into that space, make 1 TR into the (middle) CH/ST below, complete that block of 3 STs with 1 DC into that space we were working into before

Repeat the steps above from * until you have 2 STs + some CHs left in this row

Make 1 CH, skip those 2 STs, make 1 DC into the tops of those CHs to complete this row

You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what the Spiked Granny Chevron Stitch should look like when completed!
