Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Open Wave Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Triple Crochet Stitch (TR), tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops, tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning make chains in the multiple of 16 + 2

 

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

 

 

Then make 1 SC into each CH across

 

Row 2: Make 1 CH

 

  Make 1 SC into the 1st ST, then 1 SC into the next ST

*Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

 

1 HDC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 DC into the next ST

Maker 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 TR into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 TR into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

 

Make 1 DC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

 

Make 1 SC into each of the next 3 STs

 

 

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of your row

Row 3: Make 1 CH

 

 Make 1 SC into each ST and CH 1 space across

 

Row 4: Make 1 CH

 

 Working into the Back Loops only: Make 1 SC into the 1st ST

Working into the Back Loops only: Make 1 SC into each ST across

Row 5: Make 5 CHs

Make 1 TR into the 1st ST

*Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 DC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 SC into each of the next 3 CHs

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 HDC into the next ST

 

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

Make 1 DC into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

1 TR into the next ST

Make 1 CH, Skip 1 ST

 Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of your row

 

Row 6: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC into each ST and CH 1 space across

Row 7: Make 1 CH

 Working into the Back Loops only: Make 1 SC into the 1st ST

 Working into the Back Loops only: Make 1 SC into each ST across

Repeat Rows 2-7 for however long you want your project
