First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 7 + 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook
Make 1 DC into the next CH
*Make 2 CHs, Skip 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into each of the next 5 CHS
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 5 CHs left in this row
Make 2 CHs, Skip 3 CHs
Make 1 DC into each of the next 3 CHs to complete this row
Row 2: Make 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into each of the next 3 STs
Make 2 CHs, Skip previous CH 2 space
Make 1 DC into each of the next 5 STs
Now you would make 2 CHs, Skip previous CH space
And make 1 DC into each ST across
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Vertical Filet Stitch should look like when completed!
