Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example cowl
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example cowl – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Single Crochet Stitch (SC):

Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC):

Compact Blanket Stitch:

Pattern:
CH 250 or multiple of 3
Row 1: 1 SC + 2 HDC into 2nd CH from your hook, *SK 2 CHs, (SC + 2 HDC) into next CH, repeat from * for the rest of your row
Row 2: CH 2, *SK 2 STs, (SC + 2 HDC) into the next ST, repeat from for the rest of your row
Repeat Row 2 until you reach desired length, I made 15 rows for my example cowl
Fasten Off, Leave long end to sew ends of cowl together
