Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example hexagon
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example hexagon – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers

Pattern:
Pick your favorite way to start a circle, playlist above!
Row 1: Make circle, CH 3, 1 DC, *CH 2, 2 DC, repeat from * until you have 6 sets of 2 DC, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 2: (Start at open space) CH 4, SC into same space, CH 3, *SK to next open space, (SC, CH 3, SC) into that open space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 3: (Start at corner open space) CH 4, SC into same space, *3 HDC into next open space, (SC, CH 3, SC) at next corner space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 4: (Start at corner open space) CH 4, 1 DC, CH 3, DC V into same space, *SK 2 STs, DC V into next ST, SK 2 STs, (DC V, CH 3, DC V) into next corner space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 5: (Start at corner open space) CH 4, SC into same space, *3 HDC into each previous DC V space across, (SC, CH 3, SC) at next corner space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
