Free Crochet Pattern: Sassy Blocks Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is my version of a block stitch blanket; This is my Sassy Blocks Crochet Afghan!

So. Many. Color. Possibilities!

This blanket would look great in many colors! Very beginner friendly pattern and works up quickly and it can easily be manipulated for different sizes too!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:

 

Materials:

Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket

Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM

Scissors

Stitch Markers

 

Crochet Stitches Needed:

ST – Stitch

CH – Chain

SK – Skip

 

Single Crochet Stitch (SC):

Granny Block = 3 DC STs

 

Pattern:

Make chains in the multiple of 3 + 1, I 182 CHs for my example blanket

 

Row 1: 1 SC in 1st CH from hook, *CH 2, SK 2, 1 SC in next CH, repeat from * until end of row

 

Row 2: CH 3, 3 DC in 1st open space, *3 DC in next open space, repeat from * until end of row

 

Row 3: CH 1, 1 SC in 1st ST (where the CH 1 you just made), *CH 3, SK 3 STs (granny block), 1 SC in next space (between granny block), repeat from * until end of row

 

Alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
