Pattern:

Pick your favorite way to start a circle or square, playlist above!

Row 1: Make circle, CH 3, 2 DC into center of circle, CH 3, *3 DC into circle, CH 3, Repeat from * 2 more times, SL ST into first DC stitch made in this row

You’ll have 4 sides of 3 DC and 4 corners of CH 3

Row 2: (Start at any corner space) CH 3, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC all into that corner space, *CH 1, SK 3 STs, 3 DC into the next open space, CH 1, SK 3, (3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) into the next corner space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row

Row 3: (Start at any corner space) CH 3, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC all into that corner space, CH 1 to skip over any block of 3 DC, then 3 DC into any open space, the corners will all be: (3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC)

Repeat Row 3 for how big you want your square

This will be the same pattern throughout. In each open space on any side you will make (1 DC, 1 DC, 1 DC) all into that space, CH 1 to skip to the next open space. In each corner space you will make 3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC.

  • I made 4 squares, with 4 rows each

  • I then joined my squares in a row with the Join As You Go Method:

  • Video tutorial here, step by step photo tutorial here!

Around the squares:

Row 1: (Start at any corner space) CH 3, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC into same space, *CH 1, SK to next CH space, 3 DC into that space, repeat from * for each side, (3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) into each corner space

Repeat this Row 1 around the squares for how wide you want your rectangle

Sides/Length: (Start at any corner space) CH 3, 2 DC into same space, *CH 1, SK to next CH space, 3 DC into that space, repeat from * for the rest of this row

Row 2: CH 4, SK 3 STs, *3 DC into next previous CH space, CH 1, SK to next CH space, repeat from * until you have 3 STs left in this row, CH 1, SK 2 STs, 1 DC into the last ST of this row

Alternate between Rows 1 & 2 on each long side of your rectangle for however long you want your project
