Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example square
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example square – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers

Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK

Pattern:
Pick your favorite way to start a circle or square, playlist above!
Row 1: Make circle, CH 5, 1 DC into the farthest CH from your hook, *CH 1, 1 DC into center space, repeat from * until you have 12 DC made, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 2: (Start at any previous CH 1 space) CH 3, 1 DC into same space, *CH 1, SK to next previous CH 1 space, 2 DC into that space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 3: (Start at any previous CH 1 space) CH 4, *SK 1 ST, 1 DC into that space, CH 1, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
Row 4: (Start at any previous CH 1 space) CH 3, 1 DC into same space, CH 3, 2 DC into same space, *SK to next space, 1 DC + 1 HDC into that space, CH 1, (SK to next space, 1 SC, CH 1) X 3, SK to next space, 1 HDC + 1 DC into that space, SK to next space, (2 DC, CH 3, 2 DC) into that space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row
