A great 'no holes' blanket option!
Would look amazing in any color combo!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Single Crochet Stitch (SC):

Pattern:
Make chains in the multiple of 3 + 2, I made 155 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook, make 1 DC into each of the next 2 CHs, *Make 3 CHs, Skip 3 CHs, make 1 DC into each of the next 3 CHs, Repeat from * for the rest of your row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs, SK 3 STs, *make 1 DC into the CHs under the next previous CH 3 space, going forward you will work into the tops of DC underneath, make 3 CHs, Skip 3 STs, repeat from * until you have 1 block of 3 DC + some CHs left in your row, make 3 CHs, SK 3 STs, make 1 SC into the tops of those previous CHs at the end of this row
Row 3: Make 3 CHs, *make 1 DC into the tops of the DC under the next previous CH 3 space, make 3 CHs, SK 3 STs, Repeat from * for the rest of your row
Alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your blanket
Last row to close open spaces:
CH 1, *1 SC into each ST, 1 HDC into each open space/STs underneath, repeat from * across
