Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Make CHs in the multiple of 3 + 1, I made 157 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook, 1 DC into next CH, *CH 1, SK 1 CH, 1 DC into the next 3 CHs, repeat from * for the rest of your row
Row 2: CH 3, SK 1 ST, 1 DC into next ST, *CH 1, SK 1 ST, 1 DC into previous CH 1 space, 1 DC into next ST, 1 DC into next ST, repeat from * for the rest of your row
All rows after Row 2 are going to be similar. We are just moving the open space around with each row. You will move the open space to make 4 in a tilt, then switch the tilt for the next 4 in the other direction. (Shown Above) You could make the tilt start either way if you wanted.
The sequence will stay the same, 2 DC into STs, 1 DC into the previous CH 1 space and the CH 1, SK 1 to make that open space.
For the open space tilts, I made 4, then I made the last one from the previous 4 count a the 1st one for the next tilt. (Shown Above) You could make as many open spaces you want and change where you want. The above picture if from my example blanket.
