Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Citrus Splash Afghan!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket pattern

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Decrease (DC DEC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V ), tutorial here! And be familiar with the Mesh Chevron Stitch, tutorial here!

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 20 + 5, I made 165 CHs for my example blanket

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 5th CH from your hook

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH, make 1 DC into the next CH X 3

*Decrease/Valley: Make 2 CH, skip 1 CH,

Make the bottom of a DC into the next CH

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into that CH, grab the yarn you're working with, bring it through, pulling up 1 look, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through 2 loops only,

Then skip 1 CH,

Make the bottom of a DC into the next CH

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into that CH, grab the yarn you're working with, bring it through, pulling up 1 look, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through 2 loops only, then yarn over and take that through all of the last loops to complete this DEC

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH, make 1 DC into the next CH X 3

Increase/Peak: Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH, then make (1 DC, CH 3, 1 DC) into the next CH

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH, make 1 DC into the next CH X 3

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 CH left

Make 1 DC V (1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC) into the last CH to complete this row

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Make 1 DC V (1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC) into the previous DC V you made in the last row

Side: Skip 1 ST, make 1 DC into the space between the next STs, CH 1, SK 1 ST, make 1 DC into next CH space, CH 1, SK 1 ST, make 1 DC into next CH space

Decrease/Valley: Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST

Make the bottom of a DC into the next CH space

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into that CH space, grab the yarn you're working with, bring it through, pulling up 1 look, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through 2 loops only,

Then skip 1 ST,

Make the bottom of a DC into the next CH space

Yarn over your hook 1 time, insert your hook into that CH space, grab the yarn you're working with, bring it through, pulling up 1 look, yarn over your hook 1 time, take that through 2 loops only, then yarn over and take that through all of the last loops to complete this DEC

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST, make 1 DC into the next CH space X 3

Increase/Peak: Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST, then make (1 DC, CH 3, 1 DC) into the next CH space

Side: Make 1 CH, skip 1 ST, make 1 DC into the next CH space X 3

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 CH space left

Make 1 DC V (1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC) into that last CH space

Then make 1 DC into the top of the last CHs at the end of this row, to complete this row

You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what my Citrus Splash Afghan should look like when completed!
