Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Nova Blast Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Nova Blast Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here! Be familiar with how to make the Granny Stripe Stitch, tutorial here!

 

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of  3

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook

Then make 1 DC into each CH across to complete this row

Row 2: Make 3 CHs,

These 3 CHs count as 1 DC

*Skip 2 STs, make 1 DC V into the next ST

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left

Skip that last ST, make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row

Row 3: Make 3 CHs,

These 3 CHs count as 1 DC, so you'll be skipping the 1st ST

*Make 1 DC into each ST + each CH space across

Repeat the step above from * until you only have some CHs left

Make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row

Row 4: Make 3 CHs,

These 3 CHs count as 1 DC

*Skip 2 STs, make 3 DC into the next ST

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left

Skip that last ST and make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row

Row 5: Make 3 CHs,

These 3 CHs count as 1 DC, so you'll skip the 1st ST

Then make 1 DC into each ST across to complete this row

 

 

You would now repeat Rows 2, 3, 4 & 5 in order for however long you want your project

This is what the Nova Blast Stitch should look like when completed!
