Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Classic Shell Afghan!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 6 + 2 for how wide you want your blanket. I made 152 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
*Skip 2 CHs, make 5 DC into the next CH
Skip 2 CHs, make 1 SC into the next CH
Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of this row
For Row 1: Depending on the chains you made for width, you can end with 3 DC in the last CH or 1 SC in the last CH. If you end with 3 DC, go to Row 2. If you end with 1 SC go to Row 3
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
Make 2 DC into the 1st ST
*Skip to middle DC of next previous 5 DC, make 1 SC into that middle ST
Skip to next previous SC, make 5 DC into that ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 3 STs left
Skip to the last ST, make 3 DC into that last ST to complete
Row 3: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
So now we'll be working the opposite STs from our last row
*Skip to next previous SC, make 5 DC into that ST
Skip to middle DC of next previous 5 DC, make 1 SC into that middle ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 STs + CHS left
Skip those STS, make 1 SC into the top of the CHs to complete
You would now alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Classic Shell Afghan should look like when completed!
