Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Love Glow Hexagon!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this motif.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Cluster Stitch (CL ST), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here!

There are several ways to start this motif. You can use the Magic Ring/Circle/Loop, I have a tutorial here! The Chain 4 method, I have a tutorial here! Or the Slip Stitch Method, I have a tutorial here!

This pattern starts as a circle, then turns into a Hexagon

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make your circle, then make 5 CHs

These 5 CHs will count as 1 DC + 1 CH

I'm using the CH farthest from my hook as my 'circle'

*Make 1 DC into the center of your circle

Make 1 CH

Repeat the steps above from * until you have 12 DC made (Counting those 1st CHs) and 12 CH spaces made

SL ST into those 1st CHs made to complete this row

Row 2: CH 2

If you are bringing in a new color, attach that yarn to any CH space to start

Make a 3DC CL ST into that same 1st space

*CH 2, Skip to the next CH space, Make 1 3DC CL ST into that next space

Repeat the step above from * around, until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row

SL ST into those 1st CHs you made to complete this row

Row 3: CH 5

If you are bringing in a new color, attach that yarn to any CH space to start

Make 1 DC into that same space

*Skip to the next CH space, make: (1 DC, CH 2, 1 DC) into that space

Repeat the step above from * until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row

SL ST into those 1st CHs to complete this row

Row 4: This is where the circle turns into a hexagon,

CH 3, these CHs count as 1 DC

If you are bringing in a new color, attach that yarn to any CH space to start

Make 2 DC into that same space, that makes 3 DC total with those CHs

CH 2

Make 3 DC into that same space

This is one corner made: 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC total

*Side: SK to next CH space,

make 3 DC into that space

Skip to the next CH space

Next corner space: 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC into that space

Repeat the steps above from * around, until you reach the 1st CHs you made in this row

SL ST into those 1st CHs to complete this row

This is what my Love Glow Hexagon should look like when completed!
